By accessing any Aethelred Foundation website, you agree to these Terms of Use and the associated Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
These terms apply to all visitors, community members, institutional contacts, developers, and operators who interact with our digital properties.
Eligibility and permitted use
Who may use the site
You must be legally able to enter binding agreements in your jurisdiction. The site is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).
Access is not available to persons in jurisdictions subject to applicable sanctions, embargoes, or other legal restrictions that would prohibit Aethelred Foundation from providing the site to you.
Permitted use
- Read, review, and share site content for lawful informational purposes.
- Conduct professional due diligence on Aethelred protocol architecture, governance, and ecosystem.
- Link to published pages with accurate attribution.
- Download public materials such as the Whitepaper and Tokenomics PDF for evaluation.
Prohibited conduct
The following activities are expressly prohibited and may result in immediate termination of access.
- Attempting to gain unauthorised access to systems, accounts, or data.
- Automated scraping, crawling, or bulk collection beyond what public search engines perform.
- Reverse-engineering protected code, security mechanisms, or rate-limiting controls.
- Impersonating Aethelred Foundation, its personnel, or any other person or entity.
- Uploading malware, submitting abusive content, or attempting denial-of-service.
- Using site content in a way that violates sanctions, export controls, anti-money-laundering law, or any other applicable regulation.
- Misrepresenting protocol parameters, design targets, or governance status in a manner likely to mislead the public.
Intellectual property
Ownership
All trademarks, logos, site design, documentation, diagrams, and marketing materials are the property of Aethelred Foundation or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law.
Limited licence
Aethelred Foundation grants you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to view site materials for personal and professional evaluation consistent with these terms. No other rights are granted by implication or estoppel.
Open-source repositories published under the Aethelred Foundation GitHub organisation are governed by their own licence files.
Submissions and feedback
If you submit feedback, ideas, or suggestions to Aethelred Foundation, you grant a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use that feedback to improve the protocol, documentation, and ecosystem.
You represent that your submissions do not infringe the rights of any third party and that you have the authority to grant this licence.
Third-party links and services
Aethelred websites may link to third-party services — including GitHub, Discord, Telegram, X, and research publications. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Aethelred Foundation does not endorse or accept responsibility for third-party content.
Disclaimers
No offer, no advice
Nothing on Aethelred websites constitutes an offer, solicitation, or recommendation to purchase any token or digital asset; nor is it legal, financial, tax, or investment advice. All protocol parameters described are design targets and remain subject to governance and legal review.
As-is
The site is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy of content.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aethelred Foundation, its affiliates, officers, and contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Aethelred Foundation and its contributors from any claim, liability, damage, or expense arising out of your misuse of the site, violation of these terms, or infringement of any third-party right.
Governing law and disputes
These terms and any related disputes are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Aethelred Foundation is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes are to be resolved first through good-faith negotiation, and failing that, through binding arbitration unless otherwise required by local law.
Changes to these terms
Aethelred Foundation may update these terms from time to time. The current version is identified by the effective date at the top of the page. Material changes will be announced at least fourteen days in advance via the Aethelred communication channels. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
